Camden County Schools is excited to announce a new partnership with Communities In Schools (CIS) of Georgia beginning in the 2024-25 school year.

Communities in Schools places full-time student support coordinators in each partner school building to connect students and families with supportive adults and community resources. CIS staff use trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, and social-emotional learning strategies to focus on wrap-around supports targeting academic achievement, learning loss, absenteeism, and graduation rates. By empowering students, CIS helps provide a more equitable learning environment for all learners.

“Communities in Schools is a great partner to school districts across the country providing support and resources to children in everything from basic needs, mentoring, health and wellness support, academic tutoring, and college and career development. As a former principal, I personally witnessed the positive, significant impact of this organization and the site coordinators on the lives of high-needs and at-risk children. I am grateful our board of education recognized the value of this partnership. We also extend our gratitude to Senator Hodges, Rep. Townsend, and Rep. Sainz for helping us secure funding to launch this initiative,” said Superintendent Dr. Tracolya Green.

Camden County Schools is looking to fill site coordinator positions at both middle schools. For more information, please visit the links below.
