Congratulations to CCHS’s Youth Apprenticeship (YAP) Coordinator, Samantha Dixon, and Work Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator, Melanie Sutton, who have been selected to attend Georgia’s 2024 WBL Top Gun Training. The Georgia Department of Education selects 20 of the top Work-Based Learning (WBL) coordinators in the state each year for Top Gun training.
This workshop has been organized to provide specialized training to a select group of WBL coordinators. Based on the theme of the famous movie Top Gun, the “best of the best” have been selected to receive the ultimate preparation for the mission of the organization. Those completing this training will receive credentials and will be recognized at GACTE. The selection of participants is based on CTAE Director nominations, the self-reported WBL/YAP Annual Assessment Data Report along with up-to-date documented WBL C-NET student-employer data and WBL event participation.
Ms. Dixon and Ms. Sutton have done an outstanding job growing the program and establishing local industry partnerships over the last two years. There were 197 students enrolled in WBL/YAP for the 2023-2024 school year with students working 99,098 hours and earning a total of $919,439.71.
