Camden County 4-H took two youth to compete at Georgia 4-H’s premier event, State Congress. These delegates had previously competed and achieved first place in their project area at their District Project Achievement contest, which advanced them to the state level competition at State Congress in Atlanta this past week.
Madison McDonald received first place in the Food Fare project and will be attending National 4-H Congress in November as part of the Georgia 4-H team of delegates.
Megan McDonald received second place in the Dairy Foods project at the state competition.
Each youth had to compile a portfolio of their project work, leadership experiences, and other related work to show their growth in their project area from January to December. They also had to compile a recipe related to their area and perform a 1.5 hour cooking demonstration to show their food safety knowledge, culinary skills, and overall expertise in their project area.
Both youth did an outstanding job of showcasing their skills and knowledge and representing their county. We are so proud of their accomplishments!
