Camden County Families, We are deeply saddened by the tragic events at Apalachee High School in Barrow County this week and continue to extend our thoughts and prayers to all those affected. Sadly, some have taken advantage of this grief to spread fear through social media posts targeting schools in Camden County and across Georgia. While we have received numerous reports of alleged school threats and threatening social media posts, there are currently no known credible threats against any CCS schools. Despite this, we take every threat seriously, and investigations are ongoing with support from local law enforcement agencies. Already, a 14-year-old has been issued a summons for contributing to these threats in Camden County. We must work together to prevent more unlawful behavior and consequences like these. To that end, I ask that all families actively monitor their children’s behavior and online activity. Again, any threat, regardless of where they are made – whether on school grounds, off campus, or on social media – will be taken seriously. Each threat will be thoroughly investigated, and if credible, the person responsible will face the maximum criminal consequences. These simple steps can make all the difference: Check their backpack and belongings. Familiarize yourself with their social media accounts. Monitor their electronic device usage and browser history. Encourage them to report any suspicious activity to you and school officials. Discuss the severe consequences of making threats, even as a joke. Ensure firearms and ammunition are appropriately secured and inaccessible. Review the Student Code of Conduct with them. As always, our top priority is the safety and well-being of each of our students—your children. This is a responsibility we take very seriously. It’s important for you to know help is available through our schools. Please contact your child’s school if you need more information, support, or resources. Sincerely, Camden County Schools

📚✨ Today was an exciting day for the Kindergarten students at Mary Lee Clark Elementary School! Sheriff Proctor paid a special visit and delighted the young audience by reading the beloved book Officer Buckle and Gloria. The children were captivated by the story, which highlights the importance of safety and teamwork through the humorous adventures of Officer Buckle and his dog, Gloria. Sheriff Proctor's visit was not only entertaining but also educational. He took the time to discuss the key safety tips mentioned in the book. The event was a wonderful opportunity for the children to interact with a local law enforcement officer, helping to build trust and a sense of community. The visit concluded with Sheriff Proctor encouraging the students to always follow safety rules and to look out for each other, much like Officer Buckle and Gloria do in the story. The morning was filled with smiles, laughter, and valuable lessons that the children are sure to remember. 😊👮‍♂️🐶 #BElieveinCAMDEN #WeAreCamden #Community #SafetyFirst #MLCESMarlins

🌟 Exciting Week in Mrs. Carter’s Challenge Classes at St. Marys Elementary School! 🌟 This week, students took their iReady data and transformed it into S.M.A.R.T. Goals! 📈🎯 They delved into how goals keep them focused and how making them S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely) turns them into actionable plans rather than just wishes. 🌠 Students analyzed their iReady scores and identified areas for improvement. For some, the timed multiplication test became a key focus, while others set their sights on achieving multiple Bingos in the Carter Reading Challenge. 📚✖️ To keep their goals top of mind, they crafted 3D portraits and placed their goals right in their heads, a constant reminder to stay driven and dedicated. 🧠🎨 We’re so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see them achieve their goals! Keep it up, Sharks! 🌟✨ #BElieveinCAMDEN #WeAreCamden #SMARTGoals #StudentSuccess #SMESSharks #FutureLeaders
